What is KPV?
KPV is a tripeptide — lysine-proline-valine, three residues — corresponding to the C-terminal fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It is one of the smallest compounds in the catalogue, and much of the research interest lies in the fact that this short fragment retains anti-inflammatory activity that the parent hormone is known for, without the pigmentation-related melanocortin-receptor signalling.

Research context
KPV appears most often in gut and immune models, where it is studied for the modulation of inflammatory signalling pathways, including NF-kappa-B. Its small size is itself a research variable — tripeptides behave differently from larger molecules in transport and stability studies.
Because the parent molecule is alpha-MSH, KPV sits at the edge of the melanocortin family alongside Melanotan I and PT-141, though its studied activity is inflammatory rather than receptor-agonist. In repair contexts it is a component of the KLOW blend, alongside BPC-157 and TB-500.
