What is ARA-290?
ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide derived from the helix B domain of erythropoietin (EPO). It is a deliberate dissection of a larger molecule: EPO has two distinct activities, and ARA-290 was designed to retain the tissue-protective signalling while leaving behind the haematopoietic activity that drives red-blood-cell production.
It engages the innate repair receptor — a heteromer of the EPO receptor and the common beta subunit — and is supplied as a lyophilized powder at 10 mg. See the reconstitution guide and the reconstitution calculator for preparation.
Research context
Research focuses on tissue-protection, neuropathic and inflammatory models, and metabolic repair pathways. Because the innate repair receptor is expressed on injured tissue rather than constitutively, ARA-290 is of interest in study designs where the question is whether a signal can be targeted to damaged tissue specifically.
Within a repair-focused catalogue it occupies distinct territory: BPC-157 and TB-500 are studied for structural and vascular repair, while ARA-290 is examined at the receptor-signalling level. KPV is the closer comparator on the inflammatory side.
Purity and third-party testing
Every batch is independently analysed by Testides and Peptide Test Canada and ships with a certificate of analysis reporting HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity. See how to read a certificate of analysis and what a purity figure actually means; our process is on the Research and Quality page.
Handling and storage
Kept cold and protected from light in its lyophilized state; refrigerated and used within a shorter window once reconstituted. The storage guide covers both, and bacteriostatic vs. sterile water explains diluent choice — bacteriostatic water is stocked alongside.
