What is Thymalin?

Thymalin is a peptide preparation derived from the thymus gland, composed of a fraction of thymic polypeptides rather than a single defined sequence. It comes from the same Russian bioregulator research tradition as Epithalon, where short peptide complexes extracted from specific tissues are studied for tissue-selective regulatory activity.

Research context

Research models examine its influence on T-cell maturation, immune regulation and the cellular stress response. Because thymic involution is one of the clearest measurable features of biological aging, thymic peptides sit at the intersection of immunology and longevity research rather than belonging cleanly to either.

The natural comparison is Thymosin Alpha-1 — a single defined 28-residue sequence against Thymalin’s polypeptide fraction, which is a meaningful methodological contrast in study design. On the longevity side it is often examined alongside Epithalon.
