What is Tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin is a stabilised synthetic analog of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) — a 44-amino-acid chain carrying a trans-3-hexenoyl group at the N-terminus. That modification protects the molecule from rapid enzymatic breakdown and gives it a longer working window than native GHRH in laboratory systems.

It is supplied as a lyophilized white powder in a sealed vial and reconstituted with an appropriate diluent before in-vitro work. Our step-by-step reconstitution guide covers technique and volumes, and the reconstitution calculator works out the dilution for your target concentration.

Research context

Tesamorelin acts upstream at the pituitary GHRH receptor, so research models use it to examine stimulated endogenous growth-hormone release and the downstream IGF-1 axis rather than exogenous hormone administration. Published work centres most often on lipid handling and visceral-adipose-tissue study designs.

Because it works at the GHRH receptor rather than the ghrelin receptor, it is frequently contrasted with secretagogues such as Ipamorelin, and with the shorter-acting GHRH analog CJC-1295 no DAC. It also appears in metabolic designs alongside MOTS-c — see our overview of metabolic research peptides.

Purity and third-party testing

Every batch is independently analysed by Testides and Peptide Test Canada and ships with a certificate of analysis reporting high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) purity and mass-spectrometry (MS) identity. If batch documentation is new to you, see how to read a certificate of analysis and what a purity figure actually means. Our full testing process is set out on the Research and Quality page.

Handling and storage

Lyophilized tesamorelin is kept cold and shielded from light. Once reconstituted the usable window shortens considerably and the vial is refrigerated. The storage guide covers both states, and bacteriostatic vs. sterile water explains which diluent suits a multi-draw vial — bacteriostatic water is stocked alongside it.

Frequently asked

No. Tesamorelin is supplied strictly as a reference material for in-vitro laboratory research. It is not for human or animal consumption and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.

Yes. Every batch is independently tested by Testides and Peptide Test Canada for HPLC purity and mass-spectrometry identity, and ships with a batch-specific certificate of analysis (COA).

Tesamorelin is available in 10 mg, 20 mg. Per-vial pricing is shown on this page.

Tesamorelin is supplied as lyophilized powder. Use the reconstitution calculator to work out concentration and dosing volumes for your research, and see the storage and handling guide for temperature and shelf-life guidance. Store the lyophilized vial at -20 degrees C, desiccated and protected from light.
